The Fire Museum of Memphis has launched a fundraising campaign that includes a new commemorative brick program. The Fire Museum has begun selling engraved bricks that will be placed in the courtyard of the museum. The bricks can recognize an active or former firefighter, or they can be purchased as a memorial or honorarium. Bricks can also be purchased as a show of support for the Fire Museum or the Memphis Fire Department. For information about purchasing a brick, please go to (Note: there is no www before this web address.)  If you would like to contribute to the fundraising campaign or order a brick over the phone, please call 901-636-5650.

The Fire Museum of Memphis lost a good friend on May 5, 2015. Mr. Jerry Hanover, Emeritus Board Member of the Fire Museum of Memphis, passed away. Jerry was one of our original board members, and first Chairman of the Board, working alongside the Memphis Fire Department, ensuring the museum was built and establishing us as a 501c-3 non-profit and LLC. He continued that support for over 20 years in the dedicated spirit he was known for. Jerry had a heart for Memphis Firefighters and for our underserved population, supporting our efforts to open our doors free of charge to all Shelby County Schools, K-12, including bus transportation reimbursement, in order to impact a fire fatality rate that was two and one half times the national average, when the concept of a fire museum in Memphis was conceived, in the early ‘90’s. Executive Vice President at Belz Enterprises, Jerry was our dear friend. You will be missed, Mr. Jerry Hanover, but always remembered…
