The Fire Museum of Memphis has launched a fundraising campaign that includes a new commemorative brick program. The Fire Museum has begun selling engraved bricks that will be placed in the courtyard of the museum. The bricks can recognize an active or former firefighter, or they can be purchased as a memorial or honorarium. Bricks can also be purchased as a show of support for the Fire Museum or the Memphis Fire Department. For information about purchasing a brick, please go to https://fmm.engravedbricks.com/. (Note: there is no www before this web address.)  If you would like to contribute to the fundraising campaign or order a brick over the phone, please call 901-636-5650.

  • Memphis Firefighters interested in sharing the history of their careers, now have the opportunity.  The FMOM is collecting human memories (orally and visually) of Memphis Fires and station/...bureau life. A permanent record in our archives will be created that contributes to an understanding of our past as well as explores the covenant of human dignity that the Fire Service provides, creating the “Brotherhood.” If you would like to assist us in these efforts contact, please contact the museum. These oral histories will one day be shared with museum visitors along with the complete record of MFD personnel and their career assignments, for friends and family to enjoy...

  • The Fire Museum of Memphis named a star, "Memphis Firefighters," located in the Constellation of Perseus, meaning Hero, and made the presentation at Sunday's Memorial Service, honoring our 53 fellow Memphis Firefighters who have been killed in the line of duty. Although a symbolic gesture, the star honors Memphis Firefighters both past and present. The star, “Memphis Firefighters," is registered in the International Star Registry and can be seen telescopically in the Northern Hemisphere at latitudes between plus 90 degrees and minus 35 degrees.  Somewhere out there, beneath the pale moonlight, someone's thinking of you, and loving you tonight!"
