LAST ALARM

Lt. Rodney Eddins, 30 year veteran of the Memphis Fire Department, died on April 17, 2016 during overhaul procedures after fighting a house fire at 4513 Marigold. Lt. Eddins, 57 yoa, collapsed in the interior of the home. Memphis Firefighters treated and transported Lt. Eddins in critical condition where he was later pronounced deceased. The alarm was received at 11:34 PM on April 16 and brought under control at 11:48 PM. A community of firefighters from several states attended Lt. Eddins funeral services, Friday, April 22, 2016. He was laid to rest in West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Lt. Eddins was an eight year veteran of the Air Force before becoming a Memphis Firefighter in 1986. The Fire Museum of Memphis mourns with the Memphis Fire Department and Memphis and Mid-South Community.
