Daniel H. Dooley, Jr.

Lieutenant assigned to Engine 8, was one of three firefighters overcome by smoke while fighting a fire in a vacant house at 443 Simpson Avenue at 1:00 p.m. on October 13, 1962. He was found unconscious in the front room of the house and taken to Methodist Hospital, where he died. Lt. Dan Dooley, 33, had been with the department for nine years. He was married and the father of five children.
