William Cox

Hose Reel Driver assigned to Engine 4, was one of three firefighters injured while fighting a fire at the Crane Company warehouse at Front Street and Auction Avenue at 8:00 p.m. on April 20, 1905. The injuries came as a temporary floor collapsed during the fire. Cox was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with a head injury and severe burns where he remained there until his death. William Cox, 35, had been with the department for several months. He was married and the father of three children.
