Henry A. Brenner

1st Assistant Chief was injured when his car collided with Pumper No. 2 at the corner of Vance Avenue and Third Street on February 16, 1934. Both vehicles were responding to an alarm at Linden and Hernando. Brenner suffered severe head injuries and five broken ribs. He was transported to Methodist Hospital, where he died the following day, on February 17, 1934. He had been with the department for 36 years. Chief Henry Brenner, 67, was married and the father of two sons.
