The museum is closed tomorrow, 1.28.2026 because of ice and snow downtown.
Memphis Fire Station No. 1 is located at 235 Chelsea Avenue, at the corner of North Fourth Street. It
was built under the administration of Mayor Jim Strickland and Fire Chief Gina Sweat and the grand
opening was held on April 10, 2023. Station 1 houses Engine 1, Truck 2, and Emergency Unit 11. This
building replaced the former Station 1 at 211 Jackson Avenue, which was demolished and the property
given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
