Chester Anderson Training Academy

A firefighter/paramedic's training begins at the Memphis Fire Training Academy as a Firefighter Recruit. At the academy, they will learn real-life skills to become and improve their firefighter abilities, including but not limited to:

• Human relations
• Tactical firefighter operations
• Life Safety
• Incident Stabilization
• Property Conservation

The Memphis Fire Department’s Training Academy campus offers state-of-the-art training to over 1600 Memphis firefighters. The training is a college-accredited EMS school where students earn their licenses in EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic.
