Student Field Trips

The Fire Museum of Memphis teaches age-appropriate lessons in fire safety as well as life-saving skills that cannot be provided in your basic classroom setting.  Our Fire Education Specialists provide instruction on how to stop, drop, roll, crawl through smoke and map out a safe fire escape plan.

It takes as little as two minutes to pass out from smoke inhalation. That’s why fire safety basics are so critical, they can determine whether you will survive an emergency. Something as simple as knowing when to crawl or walk or when or when not to open a door can mean life or death.

The Fire Museum of Memphis also equips children with skills on how to address other common emergencies. Our Virtual Dispatch Center Exhibit teaches children when and when not to call 911 and also allows them to role play a variety of EMS scenarios. We have grant funds that are available to offset the cost of your trip. Feel free to contact us directly to inquire about this program.
