Board Member Colin Burress Appointed Memphis Fire Chief

The Fire Museum of Memphis is proud to announce that museum board member Colin Burress was appointed Memphis Fire Chief on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Colin has served on our executive board for the past several years. His support of the museum has been unwavering. We wish the very best to retiring Memphis Fire Chief Gina Sweat, who was also a staunch supporter of the museum during her tenure.

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, the annual Firefighters Memorial Service was held at the Fire Museum of Memphis, This year, the names of Memphis firefighters Terrence Pryor and Jeffrey Arick were added to the memorial wall.
